David O. Russell writes and directs this comedic thriller period drama set in the 1930s.

Friends since the war, when they served together, lawyer Harold Woodman (John David Washington) and plastic surgeon Burt Berendsen (Christian Bale) are drawn into a mystery, suspected of murder.

As they fight to clear their names and identify the real killers, they realise they are caught up in a wider conspiracy. The ensemble cast also includes Margot Robbie, Anya Taylor-Joy, Rami Malek, Mike Myers, Robert De Niro, Chris Rock, Zoe Saldana and Taylor Swift.
